  • Panisa Khunprasert

Designer Panisa Khunprasert is from Bangkok, Thailand where she studied industrial design at Chulalongkorn University. Her design aesthetic has been influenced by growing up in her family’s toy business, and many of her early projects focused on children’s learning and playing experiences. She later moved to New York City where she attended The School of Visual Arts. She graduated with an MFA in the school’s Products of Design program, where she collaborated with MoMA on designs, and continues to design products for our store today.

  • “My father was very hands-on in his creative process and he began encouraging me to draw and make things when I was very young. I grew up playing with unfinished prototypes, broken toys and cardboard models in his office.”

  • “Thanks to my father’s factory, I started to explore new techniques and came up with the idea of creating these small containers on our CNC machines. The designs were fun, but not practical. The MoMA Design Store team really helped me come up with a functional solution that added more value to the design.”

  • “New York City has been the city of my dreams since I was little, because I wanted to follow in my father’s footsteps of studying and working here. Once you are in this city, you inevitably get inspired by its vibrant art and design scene—and its energy.”

Authenticity Guarantee

At MoMA Design Store, all of the designs we sell are curator-approved and authentic. We ensure the integrity of our products through research and by working closely with the designers. Our products embody the spirit of good design objects in MoMA's collection. Some of them are actual designs represented in the Museum's collection.
