“My work provides a modern frame for earth’s ancient works of art,” says Nigerian-born, Brooklyn-based jewelry designer Ope Omojola. “Every raw stone tells a story.” For the designs she produces for her brand Octave, Omojola cuts all of the stones herself (very few jewelry designers do this), which means she can offer shapes not often seen. These Organic Pendulum Earrings are made from chrysoprase (a green stone) and Tahitian mother of pearl, with sterling silver posts (all of the silver Omojola uses has been recycled). The unique open-stone setting offers a 360-degree view of the stone’s facets. All of her earring designs are kinetic—they sparkle and sway with the wearer. These Octave Organic Pendulum Earrings are made in Brooklyn and measure 2.25l x 1.5w x 0.12"d.
