Octave Trio Drop Earrings
Description
MoMA Exclusive: Inspired by the characteristics of the materials they’re made from—the malleability of metal and the permanence of stone—Octave jewelry is designed by Nigerian-born, Brooklyn-based Ope Omojola, who founded her brand in 2016. For her Trio Drop Earrings, inspiration also comes from neolithic stone tools and Alexander Calder’s mobiles. Unlike many jewelry designers, Omojola cuts her own stones, which results in shapes not usually seen. For these earrings, she uses green jade, dendritic opal and mother of pearl, with sterling silver posts (all of the silver Omojola uses is recycled). The unique open-stone setting offers a 360-degree view of the stone’s facets. All of her earring designs are kinetic—they sparkle and sway with the wearer. The Octave Trio Drop Earrings are made in Brooklyn and measure 2.25l x 1w x.12"d.
