To create these intricately beaded Hoop Earrings, Eszter Rabai, founder of the brand Sidai, collaborates with Maasai women artisans in Tanzania. This pair of Hoop Earrings were designed in honor of young girls in Maasai communities, who sit with their mothers and learn to bead while singing songs. It’s a Maasai tradition for these girls to wear simply strung beaded jewelry until they’re ready to marry. Sidai’s jewelry celebrates and is inspired by the patterns and colors of traditional Massai designs, rendered for Sidai in high quality materials. Through this collaboration, Sidai provides economic opportunities for Maasai women and girls. These Hoop Earrings measure 0.62” diam for the small, 1.5” diam for the large.
