These intricately beaded Sidai Jongoo Earrings are the result of a collaboration between the brand’s founder, Eszter Rabai, and Maasai women artisans in Tanzania. In Swahaili, the official language of Tanzania, “jongoo” means “millipede,” suggesting that the tactile beaded surface and shape of these earrings evokes a chic version of the insect’s body. Sidai’s jewelry celebrates and is inspired by the patterns and colors of traditional Massai designs, rendered for Sidai in high quality materials. Through this collaboration, Sidai provides economic opportunities for Maasai women and girls.
