Alma Woodsey Thomas (1891–1978) was a painter and art educator best known for her colorful abstract paintings. She was a cornerstone for the Fine Arts at Howard University and is noted for starting a successful art career later in her life, and as someone who took major strides during times of segregation as a Black female artist.
