Braun Slim Quartz Watch
An homage to simplicity, the Braun Slim Quartz Watch is infused with a functional aesthetic. Its slim, 38 mm stainless steel case houses a clear, uncluttered face with yellow second hand beneath a scratch-resistant mineral crystal. The case segues smoothly to a stainless steel bracelet. Powered by a quartz movement, the Braun Slim Quartz Watch is a reliable design that will keep you on time for years to come. Braun is a manufacturer with work in MoMA's collection.
Year of Design
Hong Kong, SAR China
For more than fifty years Braun—a manufacturer with work in MoMA's collection—has been associated with well-designed and highly functional products, from kitchen appliances to speaker and clocks. The company was founded in 1921 as a small engineering shop, producing radio accessories in Frankfurt am Main. Design director Dieter Rams, who joined the company in 1955 and remained for almost thirty years, secured Braun’s success in the postwar consumer electronics market. The company’s radios, scales, fans, mixers, slide projectors, calculators, hair dryers, toasters, and juicers all embodied Rams’s mission to "omit the unimportant.
