An elegant expression of the psychedelic ‘60s, this kaleidoscopic clock changes its saturated colors during 17-second increments. This design classic has been updated with a broader spectrum of colors and a brightness-adjusting LED light, which illuminates the face housed in a sleek, sculptural case. A mesmerizing effect is created by the round, outsized second hand as it sweeps across the minute and hour hands. Made in the USA of hand-polished aluminum, chrome and acrylic.
Why We Chose This
Futuristic and psychedelic, the Aurora Clock perfectly captured the mood of the year it was born, 1969. This new version of the original design brings it into the present with updated color-changing technology. While the original’s disk featured a limited range of color that changed twice per minute, the new version boasts both the disk and also a light source that changes color every 17 seconds. This results in a more varied and unexpected display of the color spectrum, with a range from pastel to saturated tones.
