Why We Chose This
Founded in Germany in 1921, Braun is a renowned manufacturer of everyday useful objects. Several Braun designs are featured in MoMA's collection, including Reinhold Weiss' Hair Dryer (model HLD 2) from 1964 and his Desk Fan (model HL1) from 1961. In 1964, MoMA staged the exhibition Two Design Programs: The Braun Company, Germany; The Chemex Corporation, USA. The press release noted, "The Braun 'house style' relies on purity of shape and proportion, and a refined, even exquisite, adjustment of...elegant detail, resulting in a product that is neat and unobtrusive in appearance and function."
Authenticity Guarantee
At MoMA Design Store, all of the designs we sell are curator-approved and authentic. We ensure the integrity of our products through research and by working closely with the designers. Our products embody the spirit of good design objects in MoMA's collection. Some of them are actual designs represented in the Museum's collection.
