A tactile exploration of materials, gravity, and scale for design lovers and desktop architects.

Designed by architects John Bennett and Gustavo Bonevardi, the Architect's Cubes transform raw architectural materials into an engaging tabletop sculpture. Each of the eight identical 1.18" cubes is crafted from a different material—including maple wood, bakelite, aluminum, cork, granite, EVA, silicone and acrylic. Because every material possesses its own unique density, texture, and weight, building and stacking them creates a fascinating sensory contrast between light and heavy, soft and rigid, smooth and warm. Equal parts desktop plaything and minimalist art object, this set offers a hands-on celebration of fundamental architectural elements.

Co-founders of PROUN Space Studio, Bennet and Bonevardi have produced works featured in the MoMA exhibitions The Un-Private House (1999) and Mies in Berlin (2001).
