Butaque Chair
Butaque Chair
MoMA Exclusive: Conceived in 1952 by Cuban designer Clara Porset, this low-slung Butaque Chair is Porset’s reimagining of the classic Latin American Colonial-era chair. Her modern version of the X-frame design features a more curved, ergonomic silhouette. It’s crafted from tan cowhide leather and maple wood, and this particular version of Porset’s chair is based on the one she created for the legendary Mexican architect Luis Barragán. The Butaque Chair is featured in the 2024 MoMA exhibition Cra
