Bring warmth and beautiful simplicity to your table with this Barro Butter Dish from Danish brand HAY. Crafted in Portugal from durable terracotta (barro means “red clay” in Portuguese), this design’s soft touch gives it both visual and tactile appeal. Conceived by Portuguese designer Rui Pereira, the Terracotta Butter Dish is comprised of a small plate and matching lid, made for everyday use at every meal. It's smaller size makes it ideal for half sticks of butter. The HAY Barro Terracotta Butter Dish measures 3h x 5w x 7"d. Hand wash only. HAY is a manufacturer represented in MoMA’s collection.

HAY

HAY, founded in 2002 in Denmark by husband-and-wife team Mette and Rolf Hay, was born with the idea of offering thoughtful, functional, beautiful and high-quality designs at accessible prices. HAY is represented as a manufacturer in MoMA’s collection with several objects, such as the Prince Chair, a 2002 design by Louise Campbell. Devised for a competition to create a chair for the Crown Prince of Denmark, its seat resembles an unfolded paper cutout. Another design in the collection, Stefan Diez’s 2013 Rope Trick Lamp, is inspired by power transfer coils common to CNC hardware.
