Soko’s mission is to provide meaningful opportunities for both male and female artisans, many of whom are multi-generational jewelry experts. In 2023, Soko launched an apprenticeship training program focused on women artisans to learn alongside expert artisans.
Soko values hands-on benchwork experience in their designers, ensuring they grasp the artisanal craftsmanship involved. Their journey begins with 3-D renderings, followed by rigorous in-house testing and revisions.
Their global team includes designers, product development specialists, quality assurance experts, sourcing professionals and local Kenyan artisans. Spanning multiple time zones, they bring their unique talents to the table to bring their jewelry designs to life.
Soko is an ethical jewelry brand built to connect artisans in Kenya with the global marketplace. As a certified B-CorpTM they believe in using business as a force for good and work towards reducing inequality and poverty through the creation of quality jobs with dignity and purpose. Soko’s jewelry is 24k gold-plated recycled brass, and their colored products are made with locally sourced recycled glass. Soko is an ode to many meanings of being strong.
