Sculptural precision meets dual-purpose design anchored by fine Italian marble.

Designed in 2015 by Cypriot designer Michael Anastassiades—whose work is represented in MoMA’s collection—the Captain Flint Floor Lamp combines dual-function versatility with geometric precision. Featuring a cone shade that rotates 315 degrees along a slender metal stem, it seamlessly transitions from direct reading light to ambient background illumination. Its heavy marble base provides sturdy stability while adding a rich, sculptural accent to living rooms, reading nooks, or bedrooms. Available in Black with a Black Marquina marble base or Brushed Brass with a White Carrara marble base. The Captain Flint Floor Lamp is made in Italy by Flos, a manufacturer with work in MoMA’s collection.

Features of the Captain Flint Floor Lamp include:

  • Light Source: Integrated LED (20W, 2700K warm white, approx. 554 lumens).
  • Dimmability: Fully dimmable via an in-line foot dimmer switch on the power cord (10–100%).
  • Power Source & Cord: Plugs into a standard wall outlet; includes a 102" power cord.
  • Special Feature: Shade rotates 315° to convert easily from direct accent lighting to indirect ambient light.
  • Installation: No hardwiring required; floor placement. Simple assembly required.
  • Made in Italy from steel, brass, and genuine natural marble. (Choose from white carrara or black marquina marble.)
  • Measures 60.5h x 12.6w x 14.7"d (Base: 12.6"diam.).
