Growing up in Ethiopia, Tariku was drawn to the eclectic art and furniture pieces that his father collected from all over Africa. Tariku developed his craft during summer breaks at a local furniture builder in the Ethiopian city of Addis Ababa and went on to study industrial design at the University of Kansas.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan style=\"font-weight: 400;\"\u003eThe Ashanti Stool is made in Virginia, crafted with precision using a CNC wood-milling machine and hand-finished and assembled. This height-adjustable design is made from water-resistant Baltic birch plywood with a double black stain finish and is made to order.
