Why We Chose This
For The Elephants—a 1948 painting by Salvador Dalí, an artist with work in MoMA's collection—the Spanish Surrealist gave the weighty pachyderms precariously spindly legs. This juxtaposition was a theme in his work, contrasting the real and dream worlds and creating a sense of otherwordly mystery and existential tension.
Joidart Jewelry
Joidart began in 1981 when founder Jaume Julià converted a small gold and silversmith's workshop in a rural village near Costa Brava, Spain into a contemporary jewelry brand. Their jewelry channels the spirit and culture of the Mediterranean, with designs inspired by Joan Miró, Antoni Gaudí and Salvador Dalí.
