Casting a radiant, even glow from its elongated shape, the Nelson™ Cigar Bubble Pendant is part of a series of lamps inspired by designer George Nelson’s interest in Swedish hanging lamps whose silk coverings made them unaffordable for his design office. By replacing the silk with a transparent plastic resin that sprayed over a lightweight steel frame, Nelson developed a light source that he crafted into several organic, elemental shapes.The Nelson™ Cigar Bubble Pendant includes a ceiling plate of brushed, nickel-plated steel and a 10-foot cord, is UL listed, and fits a standard size bulb up to 150 watts (not included). The George Nelson™ Cigar Bubble Pendant is available in sizes S (14h x 10.5”w), M (21h x 13”w) and L (33h x 15”w). Installation required. George Nelson has work in MoMA’s collection.
