Jean Prouvé, a French architect, engineer, and designer, is known for using metal processing technologies to achieve innovative construction and forms in his design. Structural considerations inspired Prouvé's design for the Standard Chair. The front legs are tubular steel piping, and the back legs are made of hollow sections, which transfer the weight to the floor. Made by Vitra.
