The Compact Sofa maintains a striking profile that evolved from a built-in sofa that Charles and Ray Eames, whose work is featured in the Museum's collection, designed for the living room of their Pacific Palisades, California home. Two horizontal foam pads with welting cord form the sofa's comfortably high back, while a black enameled steel frame and chrome-plated tubular steel legs with stainless-steel glides make up the sofa's foundation. Upholstered in 100%-polyester crepe fabric. Made by He
