“The Squeeze started as an ode to the movement of a runway walk and the poised silhouette of a woman standing with her hands on her hips,” explains designer Jeffrey Renz. “We translated this posture into two rounded forms that appear to grip the mirror at its waist. The result is symmetrical and precise, but still animated, almost as though the mirror is posing.”
“Our process generally begins with a hand sketch. For Squeeze, the silhouette came first, then the idea of compression, and finally the two rounded forms that appear to grip the mirror at its waist. We worked through several rounds of prototyping, testing proportions and sphere sizes until we found the balance that gave the piece tension without losing its simplicity.”
“The mirror is cut to follow the curves of the two half spheres and finished with highly polished edges. The glass traces the form closely while maintaining a small, controlled gap between the materials. The half spheres and backing are CNC-cut, then sanded, painted, and hand-finished. Each step serves the same illusion: a piece that reads as pressure and tension while the glass sits entirely undisturbed.”

Prior to RTH, he spent more than a decade in the design industry focusing on manufacturing and brand development, following an early career in international business, logistics, and marketing. He founded RTH in 2023 to bring together collectible, personality-driven design and a more accessible approach to how it is produced, presented, and lived with.
