MoMA Exclusive: After roosting in her studio since their creation in 1967, these sweet birds by renowned Swedish ceramicist Lisa Larson have recently been resurrected in wood by Design House Stockholm. Their bright colors and Mexican-folklore-inspired patterns recall the flower power and peace doves of the 1960s and ‘70s with an energy that feels fresh and new today. Each 1967 Bird Wooden Object is sold separately and measures 6.3h x 6.1w x 2.8"d. Clean by wiping with a damp cloth.

Lisa Larson (1931–2024) was a Swedish ceramicist and designer who co-founded the Gustavsberg Ceramic Studio, which continues to produce new designs today. She is best-known for her ceramic work which depicts animals and figures, and also her sculptures Small Zoo (1955), ABC-girls (1958), Africa (1964) and Children of the World (1974–1975). In 1980, Larson left Gustavsberg to pursue freelance work for various Swedish companies.
