MoMA Exclusive: Named for its flexible PVC bands, the foldable Spaghetti Outdoor Lounge Chair is a whimsical homage to Italy’s most beloved dish. Designed in the 1970s by Francesco Favagrossa, the chair’s ergonomic backrest and armrests are made for maximum comfort, featuring PVC bands that are handwoven in Italy.

The frame is made from ultra-lightweight aluminum making it the perfect lounge chair to fold up and carry to the beach and outdoor events—or it can just live permanently on your patio, deck or in your backyard. The Spaghetti Outdoor Lounge Chair has a backrest with six adjustable positions and a footstool with two positions. The footstool also folds under the seat when not needed. The chair has a spacious surface but folds up compactly for easy storage. Holds up to 265lbs in body weight. Made in Italy.

Cleaning Instructions:
 

  • Clear Debris: Wipe or brush the chair to remove loose dust, cobwebs, and grit from between the PVC cords.

  • Wash with Mild Soap: Scrub the PVC cords along the weave using a soft sponge, cloth, or soft-bristle brush dipped in warm water and mild dish soap, focusing on gaps and wrap points.

  • Wipe Frame Carefully: Clean the painted aluminum legs and armrests with the soapy cloth; avoid harsh chemicals, bleach, or abrasive scrubbers.

  • Rinse Off Soap: Remove all soap residue using a damp cloth or a gentle stream of clean water (do not use power washers).

  • Dry Completely: Wipe away excess moisture with a soft towel and let the chair air-dry in a shaded, well-ventilated space before use or storage.

  • Protect from Sunscreen: Avoid direct contact between the chair materials and sunscreen products.

Care & Maintenance Notes:

  • Protect the Frame: Prevent surface oxidation and pitting on the aluminum frame by avoiding prolonged exposure to pooling water, acid rain, or salty coastal air.

  • Preserve Cord Elasticity: Keep the chair out of intense, prolonged sunlight to prevent the hand-braided PVC bands from baking and losing structural tension.
