A glowing, cocoon-like silhouette that transforms soft light into a sculptural presence.

An elegant study in organic form and material innovation, the Gatto Table Lamp was conceived in 1960 by Italian designers Achille and Pier Giacomo Castiglioni, whose work is represented in MoMA’s collection. The Gatto (“cat” in Italian) features a hand-applied cocoon resin stretched over an internal steel frame, creating a seamless, translucent shade that emits a warm, diffused ambient light. Its gentle curves and inviting glow make it a timeless accent for sideboards, desks, and bedside tables. The Gatto Table Lamp is made in Italy by Flos, a manufacturer with work in MoMA’s collection.

Features of the Gatto Table Lamp include:

  • Choose from Piccolo (“small” in Italian) and Standard versions (each sold separately).
  • Light Source: Piccolo takes 1x E12 LED bulb (included); Standard takes 1x E26 LED bulb (not included).
  • Dimmability: Fully dimmable via an in-line dimmer switch on the power cord.
  • Power Source & Cord: Plugs into a standard wall outlet; includes a 71" (Piccolo) or 78.7" (Standard) power cord.
