UK-based textile and pattern design studio Peagreen originally created this Pattern Skyline motif for MoMA's holiday card program which dates back to the 1940s when we commissioned artists such as Andy Warhol, Robert Indiana, and Alexander Calder to create designs. Today, MoMA continues to introduce an annual card line showcasing fresh, inspiring artwork and innovative paper engineering. Peagreen has been part of MoMA’s holiday collection for many years, earning a reputation for charming themes, striking graphics, and unexpectedly delightful color palettes. We were so captivated by Peagreen's Pattern Skyline design reimagining the New York City skyline as a vibrant celebration of pattern and color that we collaborated with them to extend the motif across a range of products, from bags and wooden blocks to notebooks, umbrellas, and socks.
