“We wanted to make outdoor furniture that could stay outside every day, all year round,” say Ronan and Erwan Bouroullec, the designers, and brothers, behind HAY Palissade outdoor furniture. Using public park chairs in their hometown Paris as their inspiration, the duo created this strong HAY Palissade Outdoor Café Table that can withstand any weather condition. It has been carefully engineered to hold the body in perfect balance. The table’s streamlined, graphic appeal will seamlessly blend into its habitat, whether it’s a lush country garden or a city balcony. Made in Denmark of electro-galvanized steel, this HAY Palissade Table stands 29.5” tall with a square 31.5” tabletop. Available in Olive, Anthracite and Gray. The Bouroullec brothers’ work is represented in MoMA’s collection.

Available only online and at MoMA Design Store in Soho, 81 Spring Street.

HAY Palissade Outdoor Café Table

  • HAY

HAY, founded in 2002 in Denmark by husband-and-wife team Mette and Rolf Hay, was born with the idea of offering thoughtful, functional, beautiful and high-quality designs at accessible prices. HAY is represented as a manufacturer in MoMA’s collection with several objects, such as the Prince Chair, a 2002 design by Louise Campbell. Devised for a competition to create a chair for the Crown Prince of Denmark, its seat resembles an unfolded paper cutout. Another design in the collection, Stefan Diez’s 2013 Rope Trick Lamp, is inspired by power transfer coils common to CNC hardware.

Authenticity Guarantee

At MoMA Design Store, all of the designs we sell are curator-approved and authentic. We ensure the integrity of our products through research and by working closely with the designers. Our products embody the spirit of good design objects in MoMA's collection. Some of them are actual designs represented in the Museum's collection.
