MoMA Exclusive: Created by laminating layers of extra-light glass with five different colored films, the Bisel Side Table’s design explores the intersection between light, color and material. Its intriguing geometry and precisely beveled edges produce extraordinary effects where light illuminates green, yellow and pink layers. Made in Italy, the low (20" high) Bisel Glass Side Table makes a distinctive end table or plant stand near a sunny window. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, whose work is represented in MoMA’s collection.
Why We Chose This
The Bisel Table was conceived by Patricia Urquiola, a Spanish designer and architect with work in MoMA’s collection who completed her thesis with Achille Castiglioni at the Politecnico di Milano University. Her work was featured in MoMA’s 2008–2009 exhibition Rough Cut: Design Takes a Sharp Edge.
In or Related to MoMA's Collection
The Museum of Modern Art established the world's first curatorial department devoted to architecture and design. MoMA Design Store carries a selection of design objects from that collection. We only offer authorized versions in the colors and materials selected by the original designers. MoMA's design collection is ever-changing, a reflection of the evolving field of design itself.
