Eames® Molded Plastic Armchair with Rocking Base (RAR)
Description
Designed in 1948 by Charles and Ray Eames and first presented at The Museum of Modern Art in the International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture the Molded Plastic Chair was the first plastic chair to be mass-produced. The work of the Eames design team is included in the Museum’s collection and has been featured in numerous exhibitions throughout MoMA’s history. The current models are an exact reproduction of the originals with a clean simple form that is sculpted to fit the body. They are made with recycled and recyclable materials. The rocker base is made of stained-maple runners. Made by Herman Miller.
