Duralex Glasses
Description
MoMA Exclusive. Duralex has been manufacturing tempered glassware, through a process they invented, in the heart of France since 1945. Ideal for both hot and cold drinks, these stackable, impact- and chip-resistant glasses feel very comfortable in your hand and can be used in the microwave or freezer. Set of six glasses in six colors: crimson, mint, yellow, lavender, gray and cobalt. Dishwasher-safe.
Why We Chose This
In 1945, Duralex invented the glass tempering process, a manufacturing method that produces virtually unbreakable glassware. The procedure involves heating the glass to around 1292 degrees Fahrenheit, then cooling it quickly with cold air ventilation. Known as the “original French tumblers,” Duralex Glasses are timeless icons of designs—thanks to their versatility (they hold both warm and cold beverages) and the way they feel extremely comfortable in your hand. Since their founding, Duralex has produced all of their products in La Chapelle-Saint-Mesmin, in the heart of France.

The buying team for MoMA Design Store embraces the same spirit of modernism upon which the Museum's architecture and design department—first of its kind anywhere in the world—was founded. Our selection starts with designers and manufacturers that were integral to the establishment of modern design, and whose iconic designs remain relevant today.
