La Chaise
Description
Charles and Ray Eames originally designed La Chaise in 1948 and submitted it to MoMA's International Competition for Low-Cost Furniture Design, an event that highlighted the urgent postwar need for inexpensive housing and adaptable furnishings. Now featured in the Museum's collection, La Chaise features iconic, organic design, inspired by "Floating Figure," a sculpture by Gaston Lachaise. Offers multiple sitting and reclining positions. Made by Vitra.
