This visually surprising flat lamp is composed of an acrylic sheet. Delicate laser-engraved details become illuminated by LED light creating a captivating optical illusion that challenges our comprehension of space.
Why We Chose This
Designer/maker Nir Joseph Chehanowski founded Cheha Studio in Tel Aviv after successful Kickstarter campaigns. The Bulbing Bloom Lamp is a striking example of lighting as sculpture. It’s inspired by Buckminster Fuller’s geodesic dome, with LED technology used in a surprising way — it comes up through the wooden base and projects through the acrylic for a glowing light source.
