From designer Ron Arad, a rug and sofa come together as a single element in the form of a blown-up pixelated image in low resolution, reflected in a three-dimensional surface. The rug is constructed by making each square a different height from the ones beside it. Similarly, the “pixelated” pieces of the sofa are made in different heights and as a whole, can live independently from the rug. This tour-de-force design brings the virtual world closer to the real world. Hand-tufted from New Zealand wool. Ron Arad is a designer represented in MoMA’s collection. All rugs are handcrafted so they may differ slightly in size and color and should avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight. Made in India.
