Shōji Optical Wool Throw
MoMA Exclusive: Designed and crafted in Japan by third-generation master weaver Osamu Mita, this reversible throw is inspired by an essential element of traditional Japanese homes: shōji—translucent, paper-covered sliding screens. The reversible dot-and-grid pattern is woven from 100% felted wool in black, white and gray to blend with any decor. The 71˝ x 39˝ throw offers a warm way for one or two to curl up on the couch. Mita’s work is included in MoMA’s collection and was featured in the 1998 MoMA exhibition Structure & Surface: Contemporary Japanese Textiles.
