Mary Katrantzou was one of the three designers MoMA Design Store commissioned to create their modern interpretation of the classic symmetrically patterned square scarf. This luxurious scarf features a Surrealist motif inspired by the back of a deck of cards. Versatile and easy to wear, this silk square scarf can be worn in any mode or mood—elegantly draped as a wrap, quickly tied about the head and a myriad way in between. Produced in a limited edition of 50. Made in Italy of silk. Dry clean only.
This limited-edition design is inspired by MoMA’s exhibition Items: Is Fashion Modern?, on view from October 1, 2017 through January 28, 2018. The exhibition explores the past and present—and in some cases also the future—of 111 items that have had a strong impact on history and society in the 20th and 21st centuries.
