Alexander Girard was one of the leading figures of postwar American design. Working across disciplines, he created buildings, interiors, textiles, products, furniture, graphics and brand identities that were bursting with joyful forms and colors. The motif for the Grid Tray has been selected from his archives by the Girard family in close cooperation with Vitra. "It's been very exciting to see these powerful graphics live in real life," says Kori Alexander Girard, the designer's grandson and Creative Director of the Girard Studio. "These designs have a potential to reach a lot of people. That was important to him." Hand wash.
