This screen-printed porcelain plate features an image of Jeff Koons's massive sculpture Play Doh, which took 20 years (1994 – 2014) to complete. Koons's works challenge the conventional distinction between art and kitsch. The New York-based, US-born artist, who is featured in MoMA's collection, draws his inspiration from the world of advertising and commercial art, but also from daily life, childhood and art history. Innocence, beauty, sexuality and happiness are all themes of his art. The plate was made in collaboration with renowned porcelain manufacturer Bernardaud, which has crafted fine Limoges porcelain since 1863. Dishwasher safe. Limited Edition 2500.
