This collectible miniature painstakingly replicates the LCW Chair by Charles and Ray Eames, which is featured in MoMA's collection. The Eames's spent several years experimenting with molded plywood chairs before arriving at this model. By dividing the seat and back into separate, freely articulated elements connected by a frame, each element has a clearly defined function, which it fulfills optimally with a minimum amount of material. Developed by the Vitra Design Museum in Germany, the chair is crafted in its original material and packed in its own wooden shipping crate with a descriptive brochure. Reproduced here at a scale of 1:6.
