Sophie Monet Gramercy Jade Earrings
Venice Beach-based designer Sophie Monet creates jewelry that is informed by her father John Okulick’s art: large, abstract wood and metal sculptures. (He also built the studio where all of Monet’s jewelry is made.) Combining mid-century references with earth inspirations, these Gramercy Jade Earrings are handcrafted with three hanging elements—ball, half moon and drop—from pine and shedua wood (repurposed scraps from her father’s sculptures), jade and 14k gold fill posts. The design reflects her commitment to sustainability. “I sculpt the materials that surround me, bringing natural elements into different contexts,” she says. These Sophie Monet Gramercy Jade Earrings are made in Los Angeles and measure 2.75l x 1.25w x 0.23"d with a 2.5” drop.
