Designed in 1965 by Gino Valle and an object in MoMA’s collection, the Solari Cifra 3 Desk Clock features a horizontal split-flap display that was patented in 1966. The black PVC flaps are printed with white numbers in two different typefaces, for hours and minutes, that were created by Massimo Vignelli, Valle’s brother-in-law who also has work in MoMA’s collection. The result is a perfect combination of aesthetics and function. Made in Italy with an ABS plastic case, the Solari Cifra 3 Desk Clock measures 4.15h x 7.10w x 3.75"d and is powered by two D batteries (included).
