Made in Italy from 100% cotton, this Blue Apron is from South Tyrol, a mountain region in the extreme North of Italy, near Austria. Traditionally, the Blue Tyrolean Apron was given to children as a gift on their first day of school—and worn by men until old age as a sign of community belonging. Traditionally, the Blue Apron has been used mostly as a work garment and also as a sack, a basket for the seeds, a towel or a bib to hold documents. Nowadays, it is still common to see men wearing blue aprons in the fields and in cities. According to legend, women used to embroider love symbols on their men's aprons. Though traditionally worn by men, this Blue Tyrolean Cotton Apron is suitable for people of all genders.
