“While I was making this tissue box for a show of face vessels at Fredericks & Mae, I was designing a collection of striped towels—so I was in stripe mode. I applied the stripes to a graphic face motif I originally drew in illustrator and went from there.”

Ellen Van DusenDesigner Ellen Van Dusen launched her brand Dusen Dusen in 2010 with a line of womenswear featuring original prints on versatile silhouettes. In 2015, she expanded her brand with the introduction of Dusen Dusen Home, which now includes towels, a bathrobe, a tissue box and a trash bin. The designs are characterized by vibrant colors and stripes, inspired by fine art and Van Dusen’s research into how our brains react to color.
