May Sun is a Chinese-born, Los Angeles-based artist whose work ranges from multimedia installations to theater performances to public art.

Working with a "secular" theme, Sun created this set of four linen napkins, each silkscreened with a portrait and a quote by a figure of courage and compassion. The set includes napkins featuring Martin Luther King Jr., Mahatma Gandhi, Mother Teresa, and Kuan Yin, the Buddhist Goddess of Mercy and Compassion. In keeping with the spirit of the project, use of the napkins is encouraged.
