Yayoi Kusama Pumpkin Key Ring
This enamel-coated metal design features a multicolor version of one of Yayoi Kusama’s famous pumpkins. Made in Japan, the charm measures 4.7” across, and the attached ring holds up to ten keys. A small tag attached to the ring features an etched illustration of Kusama during the 1960s on one side and “LOVE FOREVER” on the reverse. Choose from red, yellow or multicolored.
The pumpkin is one of Yayoi Kusama’s most well-known motifs, and the artist employs the gourd as both an allegory and a form of self-portraiture—in paintings, drawing, sculptures and installations. She is drawn to pumpkins as a muse because of their “charming and winsome form, their generous unpretentiousness and solid spiritual base.” Kusama’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection.
