Milton Glaser: Looking Is Not Seeing Poster
Description

Titled Looking Is Not Seeing, this original four-color lithographic poster was designed by Milton Glaser, an artist in MoMA’s collection, in 2009 for the artist's exhibition at Visual Arts Gallery at the School of Visual Arts in New York City. This poster deliberately challenges the assumption that a poster must be visible by being barely perceivable. The message emerges only as a consequence of sustained observation.

"This exhibition poster came out of a long series of experiments with black prints, where the imagery required persistent attention to be understood. Although it seems almost entirely black at first, if you stare at it for a period of time, a variety of colored forms begin to appear, and eventually it can be read. A copy now hangs in my ophthalmologist's office." —Milton Glaser

Printed in the USA. Poster is in good vintage condition. Comes rolled in a plastic sleeve and shipped in a durable mailing tube for safe delivery. Returns not accepted. Extremely limited quantities. Member and other discounts do not apply.
