This ArtGraf Drawing Pencil 6B is made by Viarco, the oldest and only pencil manufacturer in Portugal. The company was founded by industrialist and entrepreneur Manoel Vieira de Araújo in the 1930s, and is still family-owned to this day. Viarco, which is an acronym for Vieira Araújo & Companhia, has been brought back into the spotlight thanks to A Vida Portuguesa, a Lisbon-based, women-owned shop focused on the traditional craft of Portugal. This particular pencil is made of cedar and a 5mm core of water-soluble graphite, so you can blend with water for a wash effect or keep it dry for an intense deep black. A versatile tool to create your next masterpiece! The A Vida Portuguesa ArtGraf Drawing Pencil 6B measures 7”l.
