Established in 1947 in Caldas da Rainha, a city with a long tradition of ceramics, Secla was known for modern production innovations. Secla’s founder, Joaquim Pinto Ribeiro, was known for challenging artists and architects to explore ideas for unique pieces and small collections. Secla’s factory closed in 2008 but A Vida Portuguesa continues to offer this ceramic mug, which has its handle artfully incorporated into the design, creating a delightful, everyday sculpture for your favorite beverages which you won’t want to hide in your kitchen cabinet.
