In the small town of Aveleira, located in the municipality of Vila de Rei, José Dias and Abel Dias continue daily the work of crafting wicker designs, a passion started by their father. In addition to crafting and designing the products such as this Wicker Bread Basket from A Vida Portuguesa, the two brothers plant, harvest and select the wicker that grows along a small river nearby. They craft baskets, chairs, bottles and demijohn covers with this humble, flexible material.
