A modern kitchen classic from Alessi, this kitchen timer was designed in 1992 by Michael Graves. For this everyday Kitchen Timer, Graves employed his Postmodernist visual language: the design combines influences from European and American Pop art, and pre-Columbian cultures. This wind-up timer has a mechanical movement and can be used for timing your cooking from one minute to one hour, with easy-to read numbers and index marks. To set the bell sound, wind the timer and then turn the dial back to your desired time. It’s made from light blue thermoplastic that’s accented with a red ball on top. The Alessi Michael Graves Kitchen Timer measures 3.5h x 4”diam. Both Michael Graves and the manufacturer Alessi are represented in MoMA’s collection.
