A Warhol-inspired mug that transforms before your eyes.

Bring one of Andy Warhol’s most famous artworks to life during every one of your coffee and tea breaks. This ceramic mug is printed with a detail from Warhol’s Campbell’s Soup Cans (1962)—an artwork in MoMA’s collection—and when cold or empty, the soup can design is black. But once you pour a hot beverage into the mug, it quickly changes to the true colors of the artwork, red and yellow. The Andy Warhol Color-Changing Soup Can Mug measures 4h x 3.5”diam. Do not heat the mug in the microwave. Hand wash only.

Why We Chose This
“I used to drink it. I used to have the same lunch every day, for 20 years, I guess, the same thing over and over again," Warhol said of his most famous inspiration, Campbell's Soup. While Warhol's Campbell's Soup Cans (1962) mimics the uniformity of advertising, each of the 32 canvases that comprise the work are hand-painted, resulting in subtle variations in the cans' red and white tones, as well as the hand-stamped fleur-de-lis patterns.
