Designed by the husband-and-wife team of Alvar and Aino Aalto in 1937, the A330S Pendant Light—nicknamed “Golden Bell”—has a sculptural silhouette that adds character to your space, even when the light is switched off. When illuminated, the A330S casts golden reflections around the room and its perforated rim prevents glare as it creates an interesting corona effect. The design is made from a single piece of hand-spun brass, which gives it a golden shimmer, and provides warm, diffused light. Alvar and Aino—who co-founded Artek, the A330S Pendant’s manufacturer—originally designed the “Golden Bell” for the Restaurant Savoy in Helsinki. The original version still hangs there today. Artek and Aino and Alvar Aalto’s work is represented in MoMA’s collection.
