Never Have I Ever Founders Susana Chen and Jess Wu wanted to rethink press-on nails through a whole new lens. Their NYC-based accessory brand partners with artists on playful designs for unique salon-level nail sets that can be reused again and again. Each one includes 24 faux nails, one nail glue, glue stickers, a cuticle stick and an alcohol pad. Wear yours to express a more fun and creative mood. Each set is inspired by the work of an artist represented in MoMA’s collection. “Money Manicure" artificial nails by Bernadette Thompson (designed in the 1990s, reproduced in 2017) was featured as one of 111 different designs in Items: Is Fashion Modern?, a 2017 exhibition at the Museum and are also represented in MoMA's collection. The Never Have I Ever Artist Press-On Nails come as Long Almond and Short Square shapes.

Acrylic nail extensions—one of the most notable 20th-century developments in the nail industry—have become an outlet for artistic expression as well as a powerful form of identity communication. In the 1980s, manicurists turned to dental suppliers like Odontorium Products Inc.—known today as the nail company OPI—and adapted the acrylic used for dentures to create nail extensions. As the trend proliferated, a few celebrated nail artists rose to fame, such as Bernadette Thompson, whose work is represented in MoMA's collection.
